Cottage 3

This lovely semi-detached cottage is part of a well-known and unique compound perched in a quiet part of town with spectacular views over Kinsale Harbour. Built in 1682 by Sir Robert Southwell to house the widows of Protestant tradesmen, it is a recorded monument and appears as a viewing landmark on most tourist information on the town. Painstakingly restored, they are offered to guests for the first time in their 341 year history. Set in tranquil communal gardens and yet within a few minutes walk of everything. Oak beams, planks doors, wood-burning stove - charm abounds. Washer/drier, induction cooktop, coffee-machine, quality linen, wi-fi ensure modern comforts not quite afforded to the original inhabitants.
