Built in 1682 by Sir Robert Southwell to house the widows of Protestant tradesmen, it is a recorded monument and appears as a viewing landmark on most tourist information on the town. Painstakingly restored, they are offered to guests for the first time in their 341 year history. Set in tranquil communal gardens and yet within a few minutes walk of everything.
